The industry marvels at 3D printing at the construction site
If you have been to the world's largest fair in Munich this year, you have certainly seen the crowds of people in front of booth FN.619/5. The reason? That’s where thousands of visitors examined our holistic solution for 3D printing on the construction site every day. With our first both of our own at bauma, we were able to inspire people with our work on a grand scale. Also present: the COBOD BOD2, with which we printed a small Tiny House live every day. Additionally, we were joined by representatives from COBOD and m-tec, who presented their contribution to our holistic complete solution.
Berlin meets Weißenhorn
At the start of the trade fair, several politicians paid us a visit to witness one of the biggest innovations at bauma 2022. Dr. Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport, and Hubert Aiwanger, Deputy Prime Minister of Bavaria, have been welcomed by Dr. Fabian Meyer-Brötz who gave them a tour of the booth. Alexander Schwörer, owner of the family company PERI, also accompanied the entourage. Together with the management, he pushed ahead with the development of the company's division around 3D printing on the construction site. In the summary of his bauma visit, Dr. Volker Wissing said he now was optimistic that the country will master the infrastructure challenges well while also referring to 3D construction printing.
Innovations and news
We also brought some innovations to bauma 2022, which we presented here for the first time: With the movable printer kit, the entire printer can be moved onto a rail system in order to be able to change its position on a construction site without disassembling the printer.
With our sensor technology, we can provide valuable information to the printing team during the construction phase in order to keep the quality of the layers constantly optimal. Additionally, there is also a lot of research into more sustainable building materials. Here we presented structures made of geopolymers that make it possible to print materials that contain no cement at all.
A complete success
We are still amazed by the incredible response we got in Munich. Many times, PERI 3D Construction was mentioned as one of the big highlights of the 33rd bauma. The reason for this probably is, among other things, the live print, with which we have set new standards in terms of size. We also printed in the rain, showing that construction can continue during bad weather, even if you don't have a roof over the 3D-printer.
Looking back, however, what gives us the most joy are the countless conversations that we were able to have with thousands of visitors every day. In conclusion, all we can say is: Thank you and we look forward to the next time!
